David Brinkley, of Western Kentucky University's WKYU PBS, produced a feature segment "Art & Fire" on James as part of WKYU's original Arts program, MainStreet. The segment contains an interview and scenes of James at work in the studio.

The segment was redistributed as part of KET PBS' Kentucky Life program from 2004 - 2008. KET's statewide network reaches all of Kentucky as well as bordering states and metropolitan areas including Cincinnati, OH and Nashville, TN.
